Michael has been a dedicated volunteer to many organisations including Anglicare, Vinnies, the Salvation Army and various churches. Michael’s dedication to the community and youth sector shows his passion for contributing back to others in need. Michael’s outlook on his contribution to the sector is that “if over the years if I have been able to influence a young person to change their lives for the better, then I consider I have done something worthwhile”.
Through the Interview Friends program, Michael has been a volunteer for 25 years, and he was one of the original members of the program. Michael has experienced many things though the program, including assisting the police with 5 interviews in one morning from 5am to 11am as a number of young people had been brought in for questioning about an alleged robbery of several service stations.
