ACT Young Carers Research Project

The Young Carers Research Project, funded by the ACT Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services sought to discover more about the lived experiences, needs and goals of young carers in the ACT in an attempt to identify more responsie and accessible service delivery. The key findings of the project included the finsing that young carers that are incarcerated often continue their care responsibilites from detention and that young carers are responsible for a variety of household tasks including ensuring the safety of other relatives.
