ACT Budget

Each year the Youth Coalition develops a Budget Submission and issues a Budget Analysis that aims to better inform the decision making of the ACT Government in the allocation of funding. These are key documents for the youth sector in identifying areas of need where resources are not sufficient and where emerging issues require a response from the ACT Government.

Budget Submissions:

The Youth Coalition’s Budget Submissions are a compilation of the feedback from our membership, young people and of other key stakeholders in matters that concern young people and those who work with them. We engage in an extensive consultation period and also draw upon the ongoing feedback we get from members about their work with young people.

These are usually submitted towards the end of the calendar year in time to be considered for the following year’s budget that is delivered in early June each year.

Budget Analysis:

Following the handing down of the ACT Budget in early June, the Youth Coalition develops a budget analysis that examines how beneficial the budget is for young people, the extent to which our budget submission requests where adopted and the possible implications for both young people and the youth sector for the year ahead.
